traditional village house, with stone walls a metre thick situated at the top of the village of Sapounakeika, set into the
hillside overlooking the sea, the Gecko house needs to be restored. The plans
are as follows: The 40 foot long upper storey, with traditional chestnut-wood
ceiling and floor, will combine a fully-equipped kitchen with working
fireplace, walk-in pantry, dining-room and living room. The lower storey, which
is the arch, will turn into a white bedroom with closets and a full bathroom
and maybe - a shower-room with toilet.There are plans for another room to be built as an extension.
Outside,
all with views of the sea there will be a pergola and a big table in front of
the huge rock formation. The terraces will be planted wish shrubs, flowers and
fruit-trees, and the land has already 8 olive trees, some of them very old. The entrance courtyard has the original bread
oven which will be restored and used for baking and barbeques.
